warpllm is one Rust core published three ways. The package you install carries a precompiled native binary, so there is no Rust toolchain to set up unless you are building from source.

Packages and requirements

The published version of all three is 0.6.0.

Platform support

The Node package ships prebuilt binaries for these targets; npm installs the one matching your machine. The Python wheels are built with maturin and cover CPython on the same platforms.
The Node package publishes a Node-native binary. There is no browser build in the published package — warpllm holds provider API keys, which do not belong in a browser bundle in any case.

Runtime notes

chat_completions is async and warpllm deliberately ships no runtime, so a binary using it picks one:
WarpLLM is synchronous; AsyncWarpLLM is the await-able twin. Both are exported from the top-level warpllm package and take the same constructor arguments.
Types ship with the package (dist/index.d.ts) — no @types install. The request and response types are generated from the same Rust definitions the core uses, so they cannot drift from what the binary accepts.

Building from source

Clone the repository and build the workspace. This is also how you run the unreleased gateway.
The contribution guide covers the binding builds (maturin, napi) and the test suite.
